Appearing for Sunjay Kapur’s children with actress Karisma Kapoor, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani presented a puzzling scenario to the Bombay High Court. He stated that the digital trail for the Will has serious flaws. The core issue involves two emails sent by Dinesh Agarwal, a key witness for Sunjay’s sister, Priya Kapur. Agarwal sent these emails to the Will’s executor, Shradha Suri Marwah.
The first email contained a Kapur Trust Deed, which was admittedly deleted. The second email is said to have contained the all-important scanned copy of Sunjay Kapur’s Will. While this second email itself exists, its critical attachment is gone. Jethmalani made a striking technical argument to the court. He asserted that one cannot delete an attachment from an email without deleting the entire email itself. The fact that the email remains but the Will is missing raises a major red flag.
Inconsistencies Raise “Will Scam” Suspicions
This digital discrepancy deals a heavy blow to the Will’s credibility. The situation becomes more suspicious because Priya Kapur’s own legal filings in court reference this very document. This presents a difficult question. How can a legal submission cite a document that is alleged to have disappeared from the digital record?
